Match abandoned due to rain, one point each

The NatWest Pro40 Division One fixture between Hampshire Hawks and Worcestershire Royals was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Heavy rain over the past 48 hours had left the outfield sodden and the umpires took the decision shortly after the scheduled 12.45pm start as it was already apparent that conditions at the Rose Bowl would not be fit for play.

Each team earned one point from the stalemate, allowing Hampshire to extend their lead at the top-of-the-table to two points.

The Hawks have now completed their eight-match Pro40 campaign and could take the title, although they are relying on other results with Sussex, Nottinghamshire, Durham and Gloucestershire all capable of overhauling them if they win their games in hand.

The best placed to do so are Sussex, who are two points behind with two matches to play, and Nottinghamshire, who are four points adrift but with three games to go.
