Quotes of the week
Cameron White has been called up to Australia's Test squad in India.
The Victorian, 25, replaces fellow leg-spinner Bryce McGain, who is returning home due to a shoulder injury.
"We feel that Cameron's right-arm leg-spin and experience in Indian conditions is the correct option and will provide a good balance to our slow bowling attack," said chairman of selectors Andrew Hilditch.
"Cameron's bowling has continued to improve over the past year at inter-state level and his powerful batting adds extra depth and versatility to the squad.
"He has performed well in Australian colours since his return to the one-day international squad earlier this year and he has now been rewarded with inclusion in the Test squad."
White has played 21 one-day internationals but has yet to feature in a Test. He will join up with his team-mates on Monday and is available for the series opener in Bangalore, which starts on October 9.
The only other slow bowling option in Australia's squad is New South Wales off-spinner Jason Krejza, who is also uncapped at Test level.
