Vaughan: left out of India tour
The hunger is still there all right - I'm mad to get back into the England team.

Quotes of the week
Michael Vaughan remains convinced he can play a pivotal role in England's Ashes campaign next summer.
The Yorkshire batsman resigned the national captaincy in August and, despite being awarded a new 12-month central contract, was not picked for the winter tour of India.
Vaughan, who struggled for form throughout the summer, could tour with England's second string in a bid to force his way back into the team for the Test series in the West Indies early next year.
"I'm going to dedicate the next year to getting back into the England team," he wrote in the Sunday Telegraph.
"I'm giving myself until November 10 to decide my best way back. To be the best player I can be my decision making has to be spot-on, and I felt recently I was making some wrong decisions as captain and a batsman.
"The hunger is still there all right - I'm mad to get back into the England team."
He continued: "The next opportunity I get to establish myself in the England side will probably be my last, so if and when I do get back, I'll have to score runs immediately.
"To get selected I'll have to make big, consistent runs first - and at this stage, the England Lions trip to India pre-Christmas would probably be favourite, to see if I can force my way into the team to go to the West Indies before the Ashes."
Vaughan has revealed he is taking inspiration from Andrew Strauss and Steve Harmison, who have both had recent spells out of the England side.
"The other day I spoke to Andrew Strauss and he said: 'I think you've made a very good decision.' The break a year ago helped him," added Vaughan.
"You look at Steve Harmison and the break he took from the international team, and he's come back with a vengeance. The last time I had three months away from cricket was in 1997."

I feel that Michael's timing of his resignation was wrong. Had he continued as captain, I am sure he would have been picked to tour India and would probably have regained sufficient form to have been picked for the Ashes series if he had resigned after the tour of India. If, on the other hand, he had resigned earlier in the season, he would have had more time to recover his form and re-establish himself in the test squad for India.

I hope Michael can get sorted soon we need him in the England team at the top of the order. He is class and he deserves to given a place after all the hard work and commitment he gave to England while he was captain. He should have gone to India as he needs time in the middle to get form and can't get that here now it's winter! Get him on that plane to India selectors.

I think Michael should he dropped based on the fact his batting hasnt been up to scratch for the good part of the last year and also the fact he is the ex captain. A new captain has come in and given the team a new lease of life, bringing Michael back into the team based on his poor form is undermining how much hard work KP has put into his new role the past several months. We should leave Michael Vaughan alone for the next 6-8 months, if he recaptures the form of 5 years ago then he is primed to take apart Australia next summer.

I think Michael Vaughan is a too good a batsman not be selected for the Indian Tour. The only way to get into form is getting into the middle by playing. It is a pity that the selectors decided to rest him.
