Gilchrist: turning back the clock
Adam Gilchrist has signed up to play against his former Australia team-mates in a Twenty20 match.
The 36-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman retired from international and first-class cricket last January but has agreed to be part of the Australian Cricketers' Association (ACA) All-Stars for the fixture against the national team in Brisbane on November 14.
Organisers refused to comment on the make-up of the rest ACA team, saying only it would include "returning icon players".
"Adam Gilchrist, will play as part of the ACA All-Stars, a team selected by their peers at the end of last season," said a Cricket Australia spokesman.
"They will be up against a full-strength Australian XI."
It is rumoured that Gilchrist's fellow retirees Glenn McGrath and Darren Lehmann will also take part.
