Taibu: Crucial 37
Quadrangular Tournament
King City Zimbabwe win bowl out 3-1
Canada 135-7 Innings Complete v Zimbabwe 135-8
Canada tied with Zimbabwe
It took a bowl-off in King City for Zimbabwe to clinch victory over Canada after the two sides tied their quadrangular series match on Saturday.
Zimbabwe eventually took it 3-1 after Harvir Baidwan, Sunil Dhaniram and Abdool Samad all missed for the hosts.
For the Africans it was a lucky escape after, chasing Canada's 135 for seven, they found themselves floundering on 61 for five before wicketkeeper Tatenda Taibu and Elton Chigumbura put together a 53-run partnership.
Uganda-born seamer Henry Osinde removed Chigumbura (30), then held catches in the deep to remove Timycen Maruma and Taibu (37) from the first two balls of the final over.
And the visitors should have lost were it not for a misfield by Dean Abzal on the boundary with Zimbabwe needing six to win off two balls.
Prosper Utseya then scrambled a leg bye off the final ball to ensure they finished level with one wicket remaining and forced the bowl-out.
