Asif: Hearing put back
A hearing into doping allegations against Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Asif has been adjourned until next month.
Asif tested positive for the banned drug nandrolone during the Indian Premier League semi-finals in May this year.
A test on his B sample at a World Anti-Doping Agency-accredited laboratory in Switzerland also produced an adverse finding, but with a different concentration of the drug.
Much of today's proceedings were taken up with Asif's lawyer, Shahid Karim, arguing the IPL tribunal did not have the authority to hear the case.
The panel consists of former India captain Sunil Gavaskar, lawyer Shirish Gupte and doctor Ravi Bapat.
Asif could face a ban of two years if he is found guilty, with proceedings expected to resume on November 11.
