Quotes of the week
Nottinghamshire seamer Mark Footitt has signed a new one-year deal at Trent Bridge.
Footitt made his club debut against Glamorgan in 2005 but has been plagued by injuries and failed to make an appearance in 2008.
Notts director of cricket Mick Newell believes the 22-year-old has a promising career ahead of him, and hopes he can overcome his injury troubles to feature for the first XI next season.
"We feel that Mark is a talent worth persisting with because he is potentially the quickest bowler that we've got and having a left-arm variation will be a valuable asset," Newell told the club's official website.
"Last season was ruined for him because of a run of injuries but he'll be working very hard to get fit through the winter and it's up to him to push for a place in the early stages of next season."
