Pollard: Fury after dismissal
Kieron Pollard has been reprimanded for damaging a glass door after his dismissal in the West Indies one-day international defeat to New Zealand.
The 21-year-old all-rounder pleaded guilty to breaching the International Cricket Council's code of conduct when called to appear before match referee Javagal Srinath.
"Pollard damaged the door glass in the dressing room with his bat after he returned to the pavilion after being given out lbw by umpire Mark Benson in the 22nd over of the innings," Srinath said.
"That is inappropriate behaviour and clearly unacceptable as the players are expected to accept and respect the umpires' decision."
The West Indies suffered a heavy defeat in Wellington. After being sent into bat, they were bowled out for 128. Pollard was dismissed after scoring a single run.
New Zealand cruised to seven-wicket victory with almost 30 overs to spare.
