New Zealand have named a trio of uncapped players in their 30-man preliminary squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Peter Ingram, Shanan Stewart and Brent Arnel have all been included while there is a one-day recall for Chris Martin.

The seamer is a regular in the Kiwis' Test XI but has not played a limited overs international since the one-day series against England on home soil last year.

Batsman James Marshall also returns to the international fold after impressing for Northern Districts in the domestic State Shield.

Schedule

The selectors have to pick a final 15-man party before August 23 ahead of the ICC event in South Africa.

New Zealand play in a triangular ODI tournament, along with hosts Sri Lanka and India, at the start of September, while an 'A' team will tour India in the same month.

Head of the selection panel Glenn Turner said: "The majority of these players will be in action over the next six weeks with the Black Caps in Sri Lanka, or the New Zealand A side going to India.

"This means that the players who make the final Champions Trophy squad will have had some cricket under their belts going in to the tournament".
