Morkel: Recalled
South Africa fast bowler Morne Morkel has been called up for the rest of the one-day international series against England.
Morkel had been part of the Proteas squad for the World Twenty20 in England after playing in seven of the 10 ODIs against Australia.
And although he was initially overlooked for the series against England, the 25-year-old has now been included to bolster the hosts' bowling attack.
"Morne will join up with the squad in Cape Town on Wednesday," said selection chief Mike Procter.
"He has shown good form in domestic cricket this season and was also impressive in the 50 overs match for South Africa A against England a week ago.
"He will definitely form part of our plans for the Castle Test series as well so the sooner we have him involved with the team the better."
South Africa's bowlers were criticised after England went 1-0 up in the best-of-five series by chasing down 251 with four overs to spare.
As a result talented left-armer Wayne Parnell is also on standby for a recall should Charl Langeveldt be ruled out with a shoulder problem.
Coach Mickey Arthur added: "Charl is not entirely fit after his shoulder injury and Dale Steyn is the only bowler that really packs a punch. Wayne will join us in Cape Town and we will then have a look at his fitness.
"He bowled over the weekend and hopefully he will be ready to play."
