Taylor: Injured
The West Indies have been dealt a blow with Jerome Taylor ruled out of the remaining Tests against Australia due to injury.
The pace bowler compounds West Indies troubles after their heavy defeat in the first Test at Brisbane by an innings and 65 runs.
The 25-year-old injured his left hip and back after bowling just nine overs on day one of the first test despite taking the wicket of Shane Watson for a duck.
Taylor will return to Jamaica on Tuesday with a replacement yet to be confirmed.
Taylor's injury has left the Windies pace attack short of experience with rookies Kemar Roach and Ravi Rampaul to lead the line as well as all-rounder Dwayne Bravo.
Captain Chris Gayle, who described the defeat inside three days as a "disaster", is expecting batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan to return for the second Test in Adelaide.

i seriously doubt that taylor sustained that injury bowling in the first test at brisbane, he didnt play against queensland because he was nursing an injury, granted hes a good fast bowler but why is the west indies playing an unfit player in an already weak team? there are many young fit fast bowlers in the caribbean that could have been selected, gavin tonge troubled the australians in the one day game and he was left out in favour of an unfit taylor. the selectors need to think about replacing chanderpaul with darren bravo, brendan nash has not done enough lately to keep his place on the team, he cant bowl, what about daren sammy? the selectors wont give this guy a break. i say bring in some fresh young blood now at least they will fight , gayle has said he doesnt like test cricket, he repeated on the first days play, referring to the small crowd, yet this is the guy they chose to lead the team, his pocket is full he wants easy t20 money.
