New Zealand have announced that the team will not partake in a tour of Zimbabwe scheduled for June, although matches could be played at a neutral venue.

A series of three one-day internationals was originally slated for July 2009 but was postponed for a year following discussions between the respective teams officials.

But the trip has been put on hold once again after NZC chief executive Justin Vaughan expressed concerns over the stability of the African nation and the collapse of its health system.

The decision to stop the team from travelling was made with the New Zealand government, and Vaughan said Zimbabwe had raised few objections.

"It is clear from our recent discussions that the Government's assessment of the security situation in Zimbabwe has not changed from that of a year ago," he said.

"We have a possible window for the rescheduling of the tour next year in May or June. The other option is that we look at playing the scheduled tour in a neutral venue."
