Thursday Night Football - six matches beginning next month
Thanksgiving Day - all three matches on 27 November
Playoffs - wildcard, divisional and conference match ups
Super Bowl XLIII - from Tampa Bay next February
The extra matches will complement the weekly Monday Night Football broadcasts that are already screened in high definition.
Sky Sports is broadcasting over 125 live NFL games this season. Coverage includes three live regular season games each Sunday night plus two additional games accessible via the red button on the Sky digital remote control.
This season's Thursday Night Football schedule kicks off with the Denver Broncos at the Cleveland Browns on 6 November.
Coverage continues with the Brett Favre-led New York Jets at New England Patriots (13 November) and Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers (20 November).
Viewers will then be able to enjoy high-definition coverage of all three matches on Thanksgiving Day; Tennessee Titans at Detroit Lions, Seattle Seahawks at Dallas Cowboys and then Arizona Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles.
Thursday Night Football continues the following week with the Oakland Raiders at the San Diego Chargers (4 December), the New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears (11 December) concluding with Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars (18 December).
The 2008 post season begins with the wildcard matches on the weekend of 3 January. Divisional games take place the following week, with the Conference Championships one week later.
Super Bowl XLIII takes place in Tampa Bay on 1 February 2009.
