Pollock: Being looked at by Yorkshire
Yorkshire are lining up Shaun Pollock as their overseas signing for next season should Rana Naved-ul-Hasan fail to prove his fitness.
Yorkshire had agreed a two-year deal to bring Rana from Sussex, however the Pakistan fast bowler suffered a dislocated shoulder back in September.
The county have given Rana until January 31 to prove he is over the injury - but Yorkshire are already making contingency plans.
Pollock, who retired from South Africa's side after taking 421 Test wickets, is among those being looked at by Yorkshire, although the 34-year-old has committed to play in the Twenty20 competition in India from April.
Yorkshire chief executive Stewart Regan told the Yorkshire Post: "We have made enquiries about him [Pollock].
"He's due to play in the Indian Premier League and I don't think he would be available for the whole of the rest of the season."
Any move, though, is dependant on Rana's fitness - with the former Sussex man remaining their preferred option.
Regan added: "We've put back the deadline to give him more time.
"We will assess him properly on January 31 and make a final decision. We know he is training hard and is very keen."
