Marcus Trescothick has been named as the Professional Cricketers Association's Player of the Year after finishing the season as the leading scorer in English cricket.

The Somerset captain complied 2,518 across all forms of the game and wins the PCA award for the third time after previous success in 2000 and 2009.

Recent England call-up Alex Hales was named as PCA Young Player of the Year after passing 1,000 runs for Nottinghamshire in the County Championship for the first time.
