Bopara: IPL option
Essex all-rounder Ravi Bopara says he will re-think his decision not to play in the Indian Premier League next season if he is not being selected for England.
Bopara said earlier in the season that he had turned down an offer from the IPL to earn a lucrative contract.
The Essex man had opted to stay in county cricket and try and earn a return to the international scene after dropping out of the set-up.
Bopara had made a good impact on the one-day side but failed on the tour of Sri Lanka in the Test side and now admits that he will find it tough to get into Peter Moores' thinking.
Although Bopara has started the season well with the bat and England return still seems a long way off and he admits that if that remains the case next year he will think about heading off to India.
"The England team picked itself for this summer - they'd won the series in New Zealand and the batsmen in particular were doing well," Bopara told The Guardian.
"I understood that and knew I had to prove myself again to get back into contention by playing four-day cricket for Essex and doing well.
"The decision I made was just based on this season.
"I don't know what my decisions will be in the future, but if things continue as they are and the offer comes along again then I may have to reconsider my options.
"But I'm hungry for runs this season and hopefully that will be enough to get me back into the England side."
