Kruger: Back
Essex look set to welcome back Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria for the LV County Championship clash with Leicestershire.
The popular leg-spinner replaces Andre Nel as Essex's overseas player after the South African paceman departed for the IPL over the weekend.
Varun Chopra is omitted from the side that won the last four-day game against Middlesex, with Alex Tudor pushing for a place in the starting line-up.
Alastair Cook is also missing from that side having joined up with the England team but Ravi Bopara returns from Lions duty.
South African paceman Garnett Kruger comes into the Leicestershire side in place of Jermaine Lawson for the The West Indies bowler misses the trip to Chelmsford after a disappointing match against Northamptonshire, when he went for 96 from just 13 overs.
Kruger was rested for the rain-hit draw but returns in what is likely to be the only change to the line-up, with Ryan Cummins and Jigar Naik providing back-up.
