Butch Harmon insists he has not apologised to John Daly over allegations about the player's drinking.
Harmon, who formerly coached Tiger Woods and now aids Phil Mickelson, ended his working relationship with Daly after claiming "the most important thing in his life is getting drunk".
Daly had said on Wednesday that Harmon had gone on record to retract the remark, stating: "He's apologised to me. It was just rumours, rumours, rumours that just weren't true and Butch seemed to believe them without talking to me."
However, Harmon himself has now come out to deny Daly's words, insisting he has issued no apology and is unrepentant for his outburst about the self-proclaimed 'Wild Thing'.
"That story is complete BS," Harmon told Yahoo Sports. "John Daly called me last Thursday and said 'Pro you killed me. I've lost all my contracts'.
"I said to him 'John, I'm sorry you lost your contracts, but I haven't done anything to you. You did it to yourself and you continue to do it to yourself'.
"He asked if I would go on the record with a retraction and I said no.
"This is just another strange chapter in the John Daly saga. He takes no responsibility for anything."
