Perry: Share of the lead
There is a five-way tie at the top of the leaderboard at the AT&T Classic in Atlanta after the weather played havoc with the opening round.
Heavy rain and bad light meant a number of players were unable to complete their rounds, however Jonathan Kaye, Ryan Palmer, Jonathan Byrd and Parker McLachlin made the most of the better conditions in the morning to share the lead on six-under.
And the quartet were joined at the top by the veteran Kenny Perry, who had to brave the elements in the afternoon - with play stopped once because of the conditions.
However McLachlin admitted he was pleased to have been drawn to go out early.
"It's always nice to catch a good end of the draw because it doesn't always happen that way," McLachlin said.
"I've caught the bad end plenty of times when you have played in the morning and you are expecting it to be calm (but) it's really windy. And then right when you finish, the wind just dies down.
"You're like, 'That's not fair'."
Charles Howell, David Toms, Ted Purdy and Bob Sowards are one shot off the pace on five-under 67, while defending champion Zach Johnson finished in tie for 20th after an opening round of 69.
Colombian Camilo Villegas is the leading non-American in the field after his four-under 68, however Brit Brian Davies remains on three-under with one more hole of his first round still to play.
Franklin Langham had a day to forget, though, with the Georgia resident on 22-over with still a hole to play.
