Popular Colombian Camillo Villegas will take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the BMW Championship after completing his third round on Sunday morning.
Villegas was one of 23 players who had to return to the Bellarive course at 7.30am local time after officials narrowly failed to get two rounds completed on Saturday at the rain-hit event.
He made three successive pars before picking up a shot at the 17th with a 10-foot birdie, and a par at the last saw him card a round of 66 to take him clear of Jim Furyk at the top of the standings at 13 under par.
Villegas is chasing his first win on the PGA Tour, while Furyk has the experience of 13 victories to call upon.
The two frontrunners have a handy lead over their nearest pursuers, with Americans Anthony Kim and Brian Gay and South African Tim Clark three shots further back, tied for third at nine-under.
There was disappointment for Phil Mickelson, who stumbled with a three-putt bogey at his penultimate hole, shooting 71 to fall seven strokes off the pace.
Sergio Garcia is the nearest-placed European but is eight shots off the pace after a round of 69.
