Camilo Villegas has revealed he is contemplating playing on both the PGA and European Tours next season.
The Colombian has been arguably the breakthrough player of the 2008 season in America with two wins (the first of his career) in the FedEx Cup play-offs seeing him finish second to Vijay Singh in the series, while climbing to number seven in the world.
The big-hitting Colombian is in Spain this week to compete at the Castello Masters as an invite of tournament organiser Sergio Garcia.
However, he has admitted he is contemplating making the journey on a more regular basis next year as a full member of the European Tour.
The 26-year-old concedes the lure of the new-look 'Race to Dubai' has got him seriously thinking about tailoring his schedule to include the minimum of 12 European Tour events that prospective members will be required to play.
"Yes, it's crossed my mind," Villegas said. "I like playing around the world and Europe seems a good spot. I am going to be playing a little bit more overseas so we'll see what happens.
"I can count on seven (events) from the majors and the world golf events, so I could do it.
"I've always wanted to be a world player and playing both tours might be a good option so we'll see how the schedule all works and how we can handle everything."
With the 'Race to Dubai' climaxing in what will be world golf's most lucrative tournament - the Dubai World Championship - Villegas confirmed that he is just one of a number of high-profile PGA Tour stars thinking about playing on both sides of the Atlantic next season.
"That's (the Race to Dubai) going to catch a lot players' attention and it will be nice to see some of the US guys come across the pond," he added.
He also went on to reveal that this week's event near Valencia, hosted by close friend Garcia, would be one of the events he would look to make a fixture in his schedule.
Indeed, he is staying with Garcia throughout the week ahead, but was quick to dismiss suggestions that their friendship would get in the way on the Club de Campo del Mediterraneo course.
"Let me tell you, when he (Garcia) stands on that first tee he's going to do everything he can to beat every guy in the field and when I step on the first tee I'm trying to do the same," he continued.
"Every player is trying to win the tournament. It doesn't matter how good friends you are."
