Stenson: Three-putted 18th
Sweden's Henrik Stenson retained a four shot lead at the halfway stage of the rain-affected Nedbank Golf Challenge in Sun City.
Stenson resumed the round with a five stroke advantage but despite dropping two shots on the back nine still held a clear advantage over Rory Sabbatini of South Africa following a round of 71.
Sabbatini reduced the gap to three through 16 holes, but lost the advantage with a bogey-bogey finish for a two-under 70.
KJ Choi delivered a bogey-free five-under 67 that earned the South Korean the lowest round, taking him through the 12-man field after an opening 72.
Stenson's fellow countryman Robert Karlsson moved up to fourth place with a four-under 68, while Sergio Garcia, twice a winner at Sun City, is tied for fifth alongside Briton's Lee Westwood, the pair carding rounds of 70 and 72 respectively.
Stenson showed none of the blistering form that launched him into the lead on Thursday with a course record nine-under-par 63 and gave him the edge on Friday before play was called off.
After a birdie at the 10th, Stenson struggled to clean up for par at the 11th and his wayward tee shot at the par-three 12th delivered his first bogey.
Sabbatini birdied the 15th and 16th to close the gap but let them both slip at the next two holes, while Stenson three-putted the final green to leave the door ajar.
