Jason Dufner stroked home a ten-foot eagle putt on the final hole of his third round on Monday morning to claim a share of the lead at the rain-affected Canadian Open.

Heavy storms have saturated the Glen Abbey course in Ontario and more inclement weather on Sunday forced the tournament into a fifth day for the first time since 1988.

Five inches of rain have fallen in just four days leaving organisers working round the clock just to make the course playable.

However, sunshine on Monday morning ensured play was possible and the players headed out early to complete their third rounds with nobody having been able to do so on Sunday.

The eagle at 18 ensured Dufner - who led after round two - signed for a two-under-par 70 which left him at 15-under for the tournament alongside Goosen (67) and Kim (66).

"None of the players can control what's going on," Dufner said after his round. "I think everybody wants to get out there and play and compete and try to win this golf tournament."

American duo Michael Letzig (66) and Bob Estes (68) and Australia's Nathan Green (69) were one shot further back on 14-under.

Home favourite Mike Weir - who fired a hole-in-one on Sunday - had an eventful conclusion to his third round with two birdies and two bogeys in his final four holes seeing him finish with a 69 that left him six back of the leaders on nine-under.

England's Luke Donald was another at nine-under after a fine five-under-par 67 boosted his challenge.
