The European Tour returns to Asia for this week's Avantha Masters in New Delhi.

DLF Golf & Country Club is staging its second European Tour event having held the Johnnie Walker Classic in March 2008.

Back then, the winner was New Zealander Mark Brown who returns again this week on the back of missing the cut at the Dubai Desert Classic over the weekend.

After three tournaments in the Middle East, where most of Europe's big-name stars were in attendance, this week's field is certainly more modest in stature.

However, there is still a sprinkling of star names on display with a number of recent Tour winners teeing it up.

So who are the likely challengers?

Rafael Cabrera-Bello: Is slowly starting to fulfil his potential, following his maiden Tour title in Austria five months ago. The Spaniard enjoyed a brace of top-six finishes in Asia during 2009.

Darren Clarke: The biggest name on show. The 41-year-old Ulsterman finished in a tie-for-second in January's Joburg Open.

Robert-Jan Derksen: Third in Hong Kong last November and no stranger to the winners' enclosure on the European Tour.

Shiv Kapur: The 27-year-old Indian was born in this week's host city. Came close to securing a maiden Tour title in December when he lost a play-off at the South African Open. Also tied-for-fifth when the Tour last visited New Delhi two years ago.

Wen-Chong Liang: Always a contender in Asia. The Chinese star is a winner on Tour and finished second to Ian Poulter in Singapore last year. Posted four top-25 finishes in European Tour events staged in Asia during 2009.

Jyoti Randhawa: Possibly the best Asian golfer yet to win on the European Tour. Five-times a runner-up including last year's Malaysian Open. Was also a top-10 finisher in New Delhi 23 months ago and represents this week's host club on Tour.
