Streelman: Late birdies
Kevin Streelman has seized a three stroke lead entering the delayed final round of the Puerto Rico Open.
The PGA Tour event has been held up by heavy storms but with the third round finally completed officials are hoping to bring the event to a conclusion before Monday night.
Streelman returned in the morning to complete his third round in 64 shots, picking up birdies at the final three holes.
Second round leader Chad Collins and fellow Americans Steve Wheatcroft and Kris Blanks head the chasing pack, with Woody Austin, Jeff Overton, Derek Lamely and Australian James Nitties one further back.
The latter remained in the hunt with birdies at the 17th and 18th for the first time this week to return a 69.
Lamely took advantage of the receptive greens to post a round-of-the-day 63, starting from the 10th he picked up six birdies in seven holes from the 14th to storm into contention.
