Graeme McDowell has revealed that he will contest just one more tournament before next month's Ryder Cup.

The US Open champion will play in the Austrian Open in the fortnight's time, his first outing since the US PGA Championship three weeks ago.

"I've taken a few weeks' break to focus on the rest of my season and to be fresh for the Ryder Cup," the Ulsterman said.

The Austrian Open has been moved from Fontana to the Diamond Country Club near Vienna this year and has also had its prize money cut from £830,000 to £625,000, making it one of the smallest purses on the European Tour.

The Ryder Cup will be held at Celtic Manor on October 1-3.
