Carl Froch's bid to join the world's elite super middleweights has been put on hold because of an infection for his opponent.
Froch was scheduled to face Russia's Denis Inkin in a world-title eliminator at the Nottingham Arena on March 29.
But the Russian's ailment means the whole bill will now be staged on either May 3 or 10, with a final decision on the date due to be announced over the coming days.
The eventual winner will become the mandatory contender for the WBC title, currently owned by Joe Calzaghe.
But with Calzaghe fighting Bernard Hopkins at light heavyweight in his next bout, there is a chance the Froch-Inkin victor could even be handed the title.
