Despite talk of a potential rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Oscar de la Hoya insists he is not underestimating the threat posed by Steve Forbes.
Forbes, a former IBF super featherweight champion, is a massive underdog for the contest, but has yet to be stopped in his 33-5 career to date.
De la Hoya has already underlined his plans to bring the curtain down on his own illustrious career after three more bouts with one against the undefeated Mayweather who beat him on a split decision in May last year.
However, he remains adamant he is not looking past the threat posed by Forbes - another graduate from The Contender show - and is determined to put on a convincing display.
"I have to go out there and give a great performance and fight my own fight," he told Sky Sports News. "I've prepared 100 percent.
"I'm ready and obviously we're not looking over Stevie Forbes, he is a dangerous customer, he has a tricky style.
"He has that similar Mayweather style, the only difference is that he stays in front of you which is great for me we can come in a give a great fight.
"So I feel that I've done my homework and I'm ready for this fight."
