Joe Calzaghe has chosen to vacate his WBC super-middleweight title rather than face mandatory challenger Carl Froch.
The move frees up the unbeaten Welshman for a final fight with Roy Jones Jr at light-heavyweight level later in the year.
Calzaghe, who still holds his WBO belt, is currently big box office in the United States following his points win - and debut at light-heavyweight - over Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas in April.
Calzaghe is unbeaten in 45 fights and could now face Jones in Vegas as a career swansong.
Froch could face former middleweight champion Jermain Taylor for Calzaghe's relinquished title later this year.
