Enzo Maccarinelli will take on the promising Ola Afolabi for the interim WBO cruiserweight title at the MEN Arena on March 14.
Afolabi, born in Nigeria, raised in London and now fighting out of Los Angeles, steps in to face the Welshman after Argentine Victor Emilio Ramirez withdrew saying he would not be ready in time.
The fight takes place on the same card as Amir Khan v Marco Antonio Barrera and it could prove a serious test for Maccarinelli against a man known as 'Kryptonite'.
But the Welshman is desperate to put a nightmare 2008 behind him in which he lost the title to David Haye and then saw proposed bouts for the vacant belt fail to materialise in December.
"After the nightmare at Christmas I'm just looking forward to taking my anger out on someone and it will be Afolabi that will get the full brunt of it," Maccarinelli told frankwarren.tv.
"To be honest I'm not bothered who is put in front of me, I just want to fight, win and get my hands back on my old title again.
"It's been a frustrating few months but it will all be sorted out on March 14."
