Negotiations are set to begin between Pacquiao's team and that of Mayweather, and if the fight can be made it is likely to be the biggest of all time.
Pacquiao's pay-per-view numbers are likely to help at the bargaining table, with Mayweather already reported to be asking for the lion's share of the purse.
The Filipino took an estimated $22m from his victory over Cotto, who walked away with $12m.
