David Haye insists he is not in talks with Vitali Klitschko but has re-iterated his vow to clean up the heavyweight division by unifying the titles.

A recent report said Klitschko had signed a preliminary agreement to fight the Briton next year but the WBA champion rubbished the suggestion, saying he is focusing on his mandatory defence against John Ruiz.

Haye won the title last month with a points victory over Nicolai Valuev in Germany, and is known to be after Klitschko's WBC belt next.

"Apparently we have some sort of agreement but I have no idea where he has got that from, he has made that up from somewhere," Haye said of Vitali.

"I haven't actually talked to them since before the Valuev fight.

"Next up for me is John Ruiz. After I've beaten him up good style then I'm going to sit round the table and then we'll talk about the fight with Vitali."

The brash 29-year-old maintains the belief that he can become one of the great heavyweight champions in a division that has lacked a star name since the retirement of Lennox Lewis in 2003.

"Anyone who has a title, I'm coming after them, plain and simple," added Haye. "The dream is still on. I have achieved my goal of becoming a world champion.

"Now it's all about cementing my legacy by unifying the titles and dominating the division like the greats like Evander Holyfield, Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson and defending my belts as many times as possible."
