Pacquiao: Hoping to sort out a deal

Representatives from Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr are set to meet with a mediator in a bid to save the March 13 showdown.

The mega-money bout looked to have fallen through over a row over blood testing - with Pacquiao even starting legal action against Mayweather and some of his team.

However both parties will now sit down with retired federal judge Daniel Weinstein on Tuesday in California in a bid to resolve the dispute.

Pacquiao has been angered by Mayweather's demands for random blood tests in the build-up to the fight.

The insistence of Olympic-style testing had come after the fight appeared to have overcome every obstacle - with agreements in place for the split of the purse, the weight and the type of gloves to be used.

Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum will be in attendance at the meeting in a bid to thrash out a deal.

At the end of the day the random blood testing was stupid for Mayweather to demand when Pacquaio has never been tested positive for enhancement drugs or steriods so far in his carear, But lets talk fight terms now Floyd Mayweather is going to make his record 41-0 there is no doubt Mayweather will not lose to Pacquaio, Mayweather is a classy opperator in the ring and will excute the perfect game to beat Manny on fight night.

As far as i, n every other true fight fan is concerned, we dont wana hear bout mathew hatton fighting mayweather jr, or manny pacquiao fighting yuri forman, it has to be mayweather v pacquiao. since we av these 2 at the top of the lbs for lbs chart, it seems only logical for this bout to take place, the excitement it will generate will be on another level to anything ever seen in the history of boxing, and we all know there has been some big ones in the past, but hear we have the hard, honest, true to his values never ducked anyone in his life manny pacquiao, whos had some wars, and lost a few, but has now moved on in terms of weight and so it seems stardom too, the guy is quick beyond anyone els at welter, and has the power to match and really either grind down (cotto, de la hoya) or completely blow away (hatton) his opponants now, with the new found genius in his corner backing him and his ability up, and uncanny ability to call any fight almost to the round coach roach, manny really is the best equipped fighter around today to really get stuck in to mayweather, fresh off the back of one of the most one sided fights in history against the other wise wonderful fighter marquez, it really is gonna shut up a lot of ppl, i still only see one out come, manny will bash him up, too quick for mayweather to get out of the way of is this guy, stoppage for manny, easy

It's one of the best news for 2010, Everybody involved from both parties should go for the best way to resolve the issues clouding this megafight to happen. Me as one of the boxing fan since my childhood is hoping this very anticipated showdown must come to reality for the sake of the boxing and the worldwide fans craving for the truth who is really the best P4P king of today's generation in boxing. I am a Filipino and Manny's supporter of course but my only desire is to witness this one of a lifetime megabout, if this bout will not push through worlwide boxing fans will be left into something unbelievable disgrace...megafight must happen!

This is all just Hype, the fight will push through. This is all added drama to build up the bad blood between PBF and Pacman to make a more explosive fight. Why would either of them give up the biggest pay day of their fighting careers?, plus they did the same sort of thing against the hitman, pretending that the fight is called off due to some contract bla bla. As for the blood test, I dont see what the problem is with taking it after the fight, if steroids are present then it will show either way. Just sign the contract, and lets get ready to rumble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeezus, I hope it gets resolved!! If they screw up this opportunity they will never generate the same interest amongst the general public as they will right now and these political shennanigans are what mess up the whole boxing industry. It is simply the fight that has to happen, the only credible fight out there for either fighter and anything other than this fight would be a huge disappointment. I have no doubt that the fight will happen at some stage regardless, but if it doesnt happen now then it will tarnish the match up. It was the same with Hatton/Floyd, that fight should have happened around a year/18 months before it did when Ricky was considered the best LW out there and Floyd was in that division. But no he moved on fought people like Judah, Baldomir and in the meantime Ricky started to be exposed so when the fight was finally made you were already starting to think this is Floyd's fight, more than you ever would just after the Maussa fight. People lose interest when things dont happen...and imo all the delays have an uncanny way of working to Floyd's advantage. Now im not going to slate him too much; he is without doubt the best technical boxer there is, maybe even ever has been (and I fully expect him to win this fight...although I really want Manny to), but these kind of mind games which constantly look to rile up the other fighter and/or insure he fights who he wants WHEN he wants mean that he will never be be respected (at least by me) as a fighting warrior and this is again imo the one thing that will totally tarnish his legacy. I know its his style and I totally respect the businessman side of it all, but other technical pugilists were prepared to out and out scrap when required ie Leonard, Robinson. Not a doubt in my mind that the whole thing is just a way for Floyd to get into manny's head, after all when have you ever heard him say "drug testing" before? Sort it out boys boxing needs this!
