Matthew Marsh will looking to get his British super-bantamweight title back on Friday Fight Night when he takes on Jason Booth in Nottingham.
Londoner Marsh had to relinquish the belt last April when he was told to take a break from the game following a laboured title defence against Rocky Dean.
The 27-year-old has come back refreshed with two wins in the second half of 2009 and believes he is ready to reclaim the belt from veteran Booth.
"It means a lot to me - I've trained really hard for this so I'm on top form for this fight," he told Sky Sports. "I want to win the titles back."
Trainer Johnny Eames was behind the decision to give Marsh time out from the game to come to terms with weight problems, but insists he is hungrier than ever.
"He'd never been to the pub and had a drink with his mates, he'd never had a night out, so I told him to experience that," said Eames.
"Within five or six weeks he was knocking on the door wanting to come back in the gym. He never really lost the desire, he was just getting a little bit depressed with making the weight."
Booth stepped in to take the vacant title and has since proved himself better than ever with two successful defences, with a Lonsdale belt his for keeps if he beats Marsh.
"I don't think it's going to be a chess match, he's going to throw lots of punches, it should suit me actually," said Booth. "I'm going to have to prove him wrong."
Booth, who will also be looking to win the vacant Commonwealth strap at the Harvey Hadden Leisure Centre, is likely to challenge for the European title next.
