WBA and WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez has agreed a deal to fight Australia's Michael Katsidis on November 27.

The Mexican is the fighter to beat in the lightweight division after bouncing back from his 2009 loss to Floyd Mayweather Jr with a comfortable points win over Juan Diaz in July.

And now Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer says the 37-year-old three-weight champion has accepted a deal to defend his crown against Katsidis.

It comes after Marquez (51-5-1) failed to interest Manny Pacquiao in a third fight after he contested a draw and a split-decision loss with the Filipino.

Katsidis (27-2) is currently enjoying a resurgence, winning four straight fights since defeats to Joel Casamayor and Diaz. He knocked out British fighter Kevin Mitchell in three rounds in his last fight.
