DeGale: world title ambitions
Frank Warren insists he expects James DeGale to come through his British title eliminator with Carl Dilks and go on to become a world champion.
Olympic gold medallist DeGale takes on Dilks in Birmingham on September 18 as part of the Magnificent 7 bill on Sky Box Office HD.
Super middleweight DeGale is unbeaten in his seven fights since turning pro and has already set his sights on claiming a British title by the end of the year.
He will move one step closer to a domestic crown should he dispose of Liverpudlian Dilks later in the month and has already predicted he will do just that inside six rounds when they meet.
His promoter Warren is also confident he will get the job done in style and believes that the 24-year-old Londoner is good enough to clinch a world title in years to come.
"He's fighting Carl Dilks, it's an eliminator for the British title, hopefully he'll come through that and if he does then I expect him to go on and win a British title and the first of many in his quest to go on and win a world title," Warren told Sky Sports News.
"He did brilliantly for Britain winning a gold medal at the Olympic Games, he's a fantastic talent and I'm expecting big, big things from him.
"He is very exciting and I think he fans are going to enjoy the journey that he's on towards hopefully winning that world title."
