Chev Walker has been given only a '50-50' chance of playing in Hull KR's Super League opener against Leeds on February 2.

The Great Britain centre, who returned to rugby league in the close season after a brief spell with Bath, tweaked a hamstring during the club's warm-weather training camp in Portugal.

He will miss Rovers' pre-season friendlies against Oldham and Castleford and is doubtful for the clash with the defending champions at Headingley.

"Chev is looking to be out for two to three weeks," coach Justin Morgan told the Hull Daily Mail.

"He'll be touch and go for the start of the season but he has responded well to treatment so we remain hopeful. I'd rate him at 50-50 at this moment in time."

Morgan is already without stand-off Paul Cooke through suspension and utility player Rhys Lovegrove, who is likely to miss the first two months of the season after severing tendons in his hand during a fall.
