Former Leeds and Wigan winger Mark Calderwood has signed a two-year deal to join Hull at the KC Stadium.

He will move to the club ahead of the 2009 season, along with recent signing Michael Crocker of Australia.

Hull coach Richard Agar feels the 26-year-old will be an asset to the team, with his impressive record of 135 tries in 212 games.

Agar said: "He is a proven try-scorer and he will add a lot of pace to our flank.

"He has probably not had the best of times since leaving Leeds to join Wigan but we know he is determined to recapture the form and reach new heights he scaled when he was with Leeds."

Exciting

Calderwood is pleased with the move ahead of the new season and is looking forward to his first appearance at the KC.

He said: "Hull is a great club and this is an exciting move for me.

"They have some fantastic supporters who are very passionate about their team and they really do get behind them.

"Hull is a massive rugby league town and playing at the KC has to be a big thrill as it is one of the best stadiums in the country."
