Kite: Victorious season
Manly's victorious season in the NRL has been amply recognised by Australia's selectors, with six Eagles being drafted into the national squad for the forthcoming World Cup.
Clive Churchill Medal winner Brent Kite heads the list, alongside Josh Perry, Brett Stewart, Glenn Stewart, Anthony Watmough and David Williams. Only Kite and Brett Stewart have represented their country before.
Ricky Stuart's squad includes a total of seven newcomers, with Terry Campese, Joel Monaghan and Anthony Laffranchi also making their debuts.
Despite their side losing 40-0 to Manly in the NRL Grand Final at the weekend, five players from the Melbourne Storm have been selected, including Michael Crocker, who is moving to Hull FC next season.
Crocker is joined by club mates Israel Folau, Greg Inglis, Billy Slater and Cameron Smith. Darren Lockyer will captain the side
