Tomkins: Impressive in '08
Second row forward Joel Tomkins has signed a two-year contract extension that keeps him at Wigan through the 2011 season.
Tomkins established himself as a regular in the Warriors side in 2008, starting on 17 occasions and scoring 12 tries, including four against Hull at the JJB Stadium in August.
"We are pleased that Joel has agreed a contract for the next three seasons," said chairman Ian Lenagan. "He had a tremendous 2008 and was awarded with our Young Player of the Year Award back in September.
"He is an outstanding talent who has come through the club's ranks to really establish himself in the first team squad. He has a great attitude and will continue to flourish around some of our more experienced players."
Tomkins, who is the eldest of three brothers on the Warriors' books, added: "I am obviously delighted to have agreed terms for 2009, 10 and 11.
"As a local lad it was always my ambition to play for Wigan and I enjoy every minute of playing for the club. It is still sometimes hard to believe what has happened when I look back."
