Super League's Ashley Klein will take charge of the World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand in Brisbane on Saturday.

Klein, who refereed the Grand Final in October, is one of three English-based representatives on the four-man officiating team.

James Child has been named as a touch judge and Steve Ganson as video referee.

Australia's Steve Chiddy completes the team as the second touch judge.

"The policy throughout has been to appoint on the basis of merit in the first instance but to opt for neutral referees where there were two candidates of similar standing," said Michael Stone, chairman of the World Cup referees appointments board.

"Ashley has been one of the form referees of a tournament that has brought together officials from a number of countries."
