McClennan: Will develop young prop
Luke Ambler has signed for Super League champions Leeds Rhinos after the club agreed to a £12,000 fee for the forward.
The 6ft 4in prop, who will shortly turn 19, will leave Salford City Reds to join the Rhinos on a two-year contract.
Leeds coach Brian McClennan is looking to nurture the prop alongside more experienced players.
He said: "Luke is a young prop who will develop well in our system alongside senior players like Jamie Peacock and Kylie Leuluai."
Ambler will be included in the squad that will take on Wakefield in the Festive Challenge game on Boxing Day.
He said: "I am very pleased to be joining the Rhinos. I have spent the last three years at Salford but only played one game in the first team. Hopefully, I can repay the faith the club have shown in signing me."
