Agar: impressed by potential
Hull have signed Tonga World Cup prop Sam Moa from Cronulla Sharks on a one-year contract.
The 22-year-old Moa, who made three appearances at the World Cup, will head for the KC Stadium after receiving visa clearance.
Coach Richard Agar said: "Sam is very keen to try his hand in Super League and we feel it is very much a case of nothing ventured, nothing gained.
"He has very much come to prove himself, and we'll give him that chance.
"His potential caught the eye during the World Cup, where he impressed. He is a raw talent with the potential to be a Super League front rower.
"We have signed him for the 2009 season and if things work out then we'll look at the situation at the end of the year."
Moa broke into the Sharks first team last season.
Hull's major signing for 2009, Michael Crocker, is also still to arrive in the UK as he awaits a visa. They will join Chris Thorman, Mark Calderwood and Dominic Maloney as new signings at Hull.
