X-rays have confirmed Paul Cooke did not break his wrist on Friday night but he is still a doubt for Hull KR's Super League XIV opener against the Bradford Bulls.

The former Hull FC favourite damaged his wrist in the Robins' 18-16 friendly victory over Salford at Craven Park.

The stand-off is still in some pain after the swelling and now faces a race against time to be fit for Sunday's fixture.

Rovers are already without Daniel Fitzhenry for two-to-three weeks with a groin injury, while Scott Wheeldon is also doubtful.

The young prop - signed from the Airlie Birds in the off-season - damaged his hand during the win over the Reds and his fitness is set to be assessed during the week.

The news comes as a real hindrance for coach Justin Morgan as he prepares for an already tough looking trip to the Grattan Odsal Stadium.
