Fulton faces Giants wait

Fulton: Giants move

It might be that he needs to train with us for a week or two before he starts playing but it's one I can't answer until we have seen him train over the next day or two.

Liam Fulton may have to wait a couple of weeks before his first taste of Super League action, after he trained with his new team-mates at Huddersfield for the first time.

The Giants brought in the 24-year-old Australian at the weekend after he finally got through the red tape to receive his visa.

Fulton has moved to the Galpharm until the end of the season after becoming a victim of Wests Tigers' salary-cap constraints.

The Giants moved for the stand-off or back-row forward after a move for fellow Australian Todd Carney fell through.

However, coach Nathan Brown wants to look at Fulton in training first before deciding when to throw him into the action.

Waiting game

Fulton would have been fancied to go straight into the team at the start of the season, but the Giants have been on fire with three wins on the spin, meaning he will have to fight hard to earn a start.

"He will add some to depth to our squad, which is good, and he is a guy who is a natural football player and that is something that will definitely help our squad," said coach Nathan Brown.

"We hope he'll fit in quickly. He's already done a little light training and we'll probably get him involved with a bit of the teamwork stuff today for first time.

"Whether he's up for selection is up for debate. He'll come to London with us but maybe it's not the right time to play him.

"It might be that he needs to train with us for a week or two before he starts playing but it's one I can't answer until we have seen him train over the next day or two."

Fulton spent five season with the Tigers and played alongside new Huddersfield team-mates Brett Hodgson, Jamahl Lolesi and Paul Whatuira.

"I have played with them all before and I'm just looking forward to getting out there on the field with them again," he said.
