Fozzard: Cup dream

Saints and Leeds are playing each other and hopefully another couple of big teams will go out so, if we can go through, we can have a good run.

Nick Fozzard insists Hull KR can go all the way to Wembley in this season's Carnegie Challenge Cup.

The former St Helens, Huddersfield, Warrington and Great Britain forward picked up two winners medals in his time at Knowsley Road.

Saints have won the competition in four of the past five years, but face Super League champions Leeds at Headingley on Sunday.

With one of the big two set to be knocked out Fozzard sees no reason why his old side's Challenge Cup magic should not rub off on his Hull KR team-mates.

Excited

"It gives us a bit of a break from Super League and it's for Wembley so we're all a bit excited about having a bit of a Cup run," Fozzard said.

"It's all the players' dreams. The Aussies watch it back home and we all just want to play at Wembley. It's the first game of five towards winning it.

"Saints and Leeds are playing each other and hopefully another couple of big teams will go out so, if we can go through, we can have a good run.

"I've won it twice myself and been at Saints when they've won it another two times (when I was injured). In the last five years St Helens have only lost one game in the Challenge Cup. Hopefully I can enjoy some of that here."

Rovers begin their campaign with a fourth-round tie at home to Super League bottom club Celtic Crusaders on Friday night.

The Crusaders have yet to defeat full-time opposition in the competition and lost 48-18 to Rovers at Craven Park in Super League only a fortnight ago.

Wakefield decision

Wakefield, who lost at the semi-final stage last season, are also in action against Leigh on Friday.

The Wildcats have announced a new decision to mark the death of 20-year-old reserve team player Leon Walker.

The club's reserve team will wear the name 'Walker' on the back of their shirts for the rest of the season in memory of their late team-mate.

Wakefield's second string will play their first fixture since Walker's death against Bradford at Belle Vue on Saturday.
