Bradford centre Jason Crookes will not play again this season after suffering cruciate ligament damage.

The 19-year-old was hurt in the Bulls' defeat at Wakefield on Easter Monday and an MRI scan has now confirmed his worst fears.

Crookes only made his Super League debut for the club last month but will now not be available for selection again until 2010.

"Jason is a young player who had just got himself on the edge of the first team having made three appearances, and it's very disappointing," said Bradford coach Steve McNamara.

"He was providing us with good cover and trying to establish himself in our first team."

In a further blow for the Bulls, a broken scaphoid will keep full-back Kieran Hyde out of action for between six and eight weeks.

The 18-year-old, who was 18th man for the recent home loss to Warrington, damaged his wrist playing for the reserves against Castleford.
