Solomona: Major surgery
Bradford Bulls forward David Solomona may have played his last game for the club after being ruled out of the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
The 31-year-old former New Zealand international dislocated his shoulder for the second time during Bulls' dramatic 34-30 win at St Helens last month - just three games into his comeback - and is due to undergo major surgery.
Solomona is now set for a six-month lay-off and, with his contract set to expire at the end of the year, he is facing an uncertain future.
"Sol got referred to another specialist and the injury is pretty severe," Bulls coach Steve McNamara told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.
"The rotator cuff has been pulled right off and it needs to be stitched back on.
"It's a pretty rare injury but it's going to finish him for the rest of the season. He could be out for six months, which is obviously really unfortunate for Sol and the team.
"He's going to have the op in Nottingham next Saturday. I'm really disappointed as I was hoping he would make a strong contribution for us this year and it's just not happened for him."
Solomona is the second Bradford player to be ruled out for the rest of the season after teenage centre Jason Crookes suffered a cruciate injury at Wakefield, leaving him requiring a knee reconstruction.
