Danny Ward has become the seventh Harlequins player to commit to the club by signing a new contract.

The former Leeds forward joined the club from Castleford 18 months ago.

The 29-year-old would have been out of contract at the end of the season but his performances have earned him a new 12-month deal.

"I'm happy down here at Quins, they're a great bunch of lads and I can't see myself playing anywhere else," said Ward.

"There was never a question of me wanting to go anywhere else so, when the club offered me a new contract, I was delighted to sign it."

Harlequins coach Brian McDermott added: "Danny is a player who you could describe as he does exactly what it says on the tin, he goes out there and performs.

"A lot of our attacks come off the back of Danny Ward play-the-balls. He is 'Mr Consistent'."
