Fa'asavalu: Broken arm
St Helens have suffered another major injury blow after it was confirmed England forward Maurie Fa'asavalu broke his arm against Warrington on Saturday.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury in the second half of Saints' 40-26 victory over the Wolves and has already undergone surgery.
Fa'asavalu will be sidelined for between 10 and 12 weeks and joins fellow Saints stars Sean Long and Jason Cayless on the list of long-term casualties at Knowsley Road.
Assistant coach Kieron Purtill said: "There were a few bumps and bruises from a tough game but the biggest concern is Maurie, who has a broken arm and had an operation yesterday.
"He is going to be a big loss to us. We have had a few injuries in the front row - with Gareth Frodsham and Jason Cayless out for a while - and it will mean that Paul Clough will have to step up to prop and Lee Gilmour will get more time in the second row than centres."
Fa'asavalu has missed just one St Helens fixture this season, but is definitely ruled out of the business end of his side's Challenge Cup campaign as well as the rest of the regular Super League season.
Cayless is not expected back from a knee injury until mid-to-late August but hooker Keiron Cunningham could return later this month and Long may be back by the end of August.
